There are no longer any legal restrictions requiring people to self-isolate if they have Covid. Instead of legal constraints the government advice is to use ‘COVID sense' to help protect yourself and others and stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days after testing positive. The same principal of using ‘COVID sense' should apply to our church buildings, congregational activities and the support you offer communities.
For individuals, including ministers, staff and volunteers in churches this would include:
- Getting your vaccine when offered to ensure you are fully protected
- Staying at home and resting if you have symptoms
- Avoid meeting people who are more likely to fall seriously ill if they were to catch Covid, such as elderly or those with weakened immune systems
If you have any symptoms suggestive of Covid or Flu (new continuous cough, fever, change in taste / smell or sore throat symptom) please consider staying at home until you feel better and help protect others.
