Boys' Brigade

The Boys' Brigade offers a range of activities and opportunities for boys from Primary 1 all the way up to age 18, including sports and recreation, skills training and community work, all of which builds into the BB award scheme. Our staff are all experienced and trained in youth work, and subject to the PVG scheme. New recruits are very welcome.

The BB are permitted to resume outdoor activities:

Sections will remain in separate bubbles and be socially distanced. All boys are asked to dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring your own water or juice/snacks.

We will continue to have a blended approach with #BBatHome activities and Zoom meetings if conditions prevent us from meeting outdoors.

Boys' Brigade Fundraising Christmas 2020

The Company is launching a fundraiser, ‘How Far to Bethlehem?' Details will be available here and on 190th Glasgow Boys’ Brigade Facebook page. Basically, we are asking boys to use pedometers, Fitbits or smart devices to record their steps between now and Christmas, with a view to collectively covering the distance between Stepps and Bethlehem. If you would like to support us by sponsoring the boys, please contact me on the details below or go to our GoFundMe page. Your support will be much appreciated.

Queen's Badge Presentation

The Stepps Parish Church family were delighted and honoured to play a part in the planning and arrangements for the presentation of the Queen's Badge for one of our Company Section boys of the 190th Glasgow Boys Brigade. Callum Hoy was awarded his badge after waiting almost 6 months from completing all the necessary activities whilst Covid-19 postponed the original ceremony. A huge well-done Callum! We are enormously proud of your achievement.

Poppy Scotland Fundraising

The Company have asked the boys to research family members who have served in the Forces and add their names to Remembrance Crosses which will be placed at the Stepps War Memorial in Bluebell Park. This ties in with the BB's VE75 award. Alongside this, we are hoping to raise a small donation for the Poppy Scotland Appeal. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Colin
